First day of school!

Today was the first day of school for two of my kiddos.  I really love the fact that B will still let me take first day of school pictures.

Cara is a first grader:

And B is a 10th grader:

They both came home and said the first day was good.  Now only 179 more days...

Open House

Tonight was open house for Cara.  It was time to see her classroom and meet her teacher.  Here is her desk:

She posed for me sitting at her desk:

I got a quick shot of Cara and her teacher, Mrs. Isaac, before we left.  Looks like it's going to be great year in first grade!

Cara's Third BTS Fashion Show!

The rest of Cara's fall stuff has finally came in, resulting in the third back to school fashion show.  The crazy part is that we live in the desert part of Washington State, which means that she will wear this stuff the end of October!  Please excuse the poor quality pics.  I forgot my camera in Pullman yesterday when we dropped my oldest off at college.  I will have it back in a month.

Cara's stats:  45" and 41 lbs.

This dress and leggings (both size 6) are from jcrew factory.  The boots (size 11) are from zulily.

This Jelly the Pug dress (size 6) is one I've been eyeing for a year now.  I bought it off zulily and the leggings and boots from the above pic work with this dress, too.

Gymboree recently had a 40% off kid girl online sale so I placed an order.  The dress (size 6) and tights are both from the Ready, Dress, Go! line.

This is last year's dress (size 6) from Next and boots (size 11)from Gymboree.  The leopard tights are new from Gymboree and I'm going to put the outfit together like this:

I love this shirt (size 5/6) from Crazy 8!  It was 30% off this weekend plus I had a 20% off coupon.  The red pants are Gap skimmers (size 6).

This shirt (size 6) and headband are also from the Ready, Dress, Go! Gymboree line.  The jeggings are from Children's Place (size 6, see previous fashion show).

This shirt is from Justice (size 6).  I'm thinking about cutting the plaid part off the bottom and putting a red lace cami under it.  The shirt is MUCH cuter in person...the red is really bright and glittery.  The gray jeggings are from Children's Place (size 6, see previous fashion show).

This shirt (size 6/7) is from crewcuts.  It's super cute!  The jeggings (size 6) are Joe's Jeans that we got from the Nordstrom Sale.

Well, if you made it this far, thanks for looking.  I'm still dying for some more Tea Collection, but I think Cara is definitely set for first grade!

A is all moved in at WSU! {Sunday Snapshot}

Friday morning we loaded up A's stuff and drove her to Washington State University.  This is a view of campus from the golf course:

She is staying in Duncan Dunn...the same hall I lived in for two years.  Her roommate had her bed lofted before we got there, which made it nice because we didn't have to do it! ;)  Notice the fan clipped to the curtain rod?  No air conditioning. :(  The girls have a total of 4 fans going in the room right now.

Here is a view of her desk.  It's under her bed along with 4 storage containers to the left of it.

The sign hanging between the two girl's beds.  It used to hang over A's bed here at home.  It was a gift from one of A's special "bonus mom's."

Another room view:

View of A's closet and one of the windows:

Sink area.  I really like this picture because you can see the reflection of A and B up on the bed!

Cara and A posing before we left:

We did our best to make her room homey and comfortable.  We will miss her terribly (already do) but we also know she is going to have a great time at WSU.  It's hard, though.  I can't wait to hug her again.  Hopefully soon!

Disneyland!

Cara finally got to go to Disneyland for the first time this past weekend.  I had a conference for work in San Diego, so J, B, and Cara met me in LA.  Cara didn't really know what to expect, but she was excited to see Minnie Mouse first thing!

I made Cara an appointment at the Bippity Boppity Boutique to get her hair and make up done by a fairy godmother in training.

She was a little nervous, but she's always nervous in new situations.

Her fairy godmother gave her a spin around for the "big reveal..."

She was beyond excited about being transformed into "Princess Cara."

Outside she practiced a couple princess poses that her fairy godmother in training taught her...

Can you tell which princess is Cara's favorite?

We all had a great time.  Cara is already looking forward to going back in a couple of years.
