I did not expect to get an update from the Shanghai SWI. They are not known for providing updates. Imagine my surprise when this mischievious little face showed up on my email! I'm so excited to go get her, but we still have about 5 more steps. I800 approval, NVC cable to Guangzhou, letter received from NVC, Article 5, then TA. It's a long process, but then, all of it has been a long process! I just hope we can travel before our fingerprints expire in mid-October. I don't want that monkey-wrench thrown into the whole thing.
Oh. My. Goodness. She is just the cutest thing ever! Congratulations:)
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is lovely.
ReplyDeletePlease do not wait to renew your fingerprints. DO IT NOW!! Ours were scheduled to expire on July 17, 2010. I submitted my request to be re-fingerprinted in early May. I did not get an appointment until June 22. On July 1 the USCIS transferred all cases to the National Benefits Center (NBC) in Missouri. Bottom line, they are backed up going through hundreds of boxes. I am scheduled to meet my son in China on August 2 and I just received confirmation today that my fingerprints were approved and forwarded to the NVC and off to the US Consulate. And that was after I called every day and cried. My consulate appointment was almost cancelled and my trip was almost postponed.
My advice...go ahead and get them updated.
Good luck in your adoption!
Oh my! That first photo is probably an indication of what you have in store for you! Hang on!
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful!

Definitely looks like a happy little imp. I'll cross my fingers for your timing and keep you in my prayers as well.
ReplyDeleteShe is adorable! CONGRATS!!! I am headed to China next month for my daughter...exciting times!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! We are another set of "Funks" adopting from China-thought it was neat to see other Funks out there (our blog:

Please do not delay on updating your fingerprints. I had the same problem as Susan who posted above. I thought I did ours far enough in advance that we would have no problems. We received TA and had to wait to make CA appoinment because of FP's. Don't wait do it now. Your daughter is BEAUTIFUL!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Shelly
First of all your daughter is just beautiful! I happened to run across your blog on the rumor queen.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I am writing is because we also adopted a daughter 3 months ago from the same orphanage. I was told while we were in China that this orphanage does not adopt out very often and usually once a year. WOW, two in three months! My daughter, Christina, is also 3. I can't wait to show her your daughter's picture to see if she remembers her.
Christina was so well taken care of at the orphanage. I have been so pleased with everything. I would love to share our story with you sometime if you would like. You can email me back here. Also I have a blog (which I haven't been very good at) and I am also on facebook.
Congratulations!
