We went to Yakima on Saturday for the no tax sale at Big R. B is growing like a weed and needed a new show shirt for the livestock show and new boots. We found the boots, but no shirt. Cara and A wanted to be twins today in their 4-H sweatshirts.
After Big R we ran some errands, got some Easter Basket goodies, and bought two new trees to plant in the front of the house. After dinner Grandma, Grandpa, and Great Grandma Ann came over to celebrate Grandma Ann's 82nd birthday. Yes, Cara is wearing a swimming suit. No, it's not swimming weather, but the suit has a tutu. 'Nuf said. Aunt D and Uncle D and L, D, and L came over for cake as well.
Little L decided to spend the night for Cara's first slumber party. Big mistake! This picture is an illusion. Cara kept coming into our bedroom over, and over, and over. Finally, A and L went into A's room to sleep and Cara had to stay in our bedroom with us. She cried until after midnight! It will be a while before she has another slumber party!
Who said Shanghai kids don't like dirt!? Well, it was probably me when we first got Cara. She wouldn't touch grass or dirt. Now we can't get her out of the dirt. She found a basket of Daddy's old tractors and toys in the garage after lunch today. Behind her is the fire pit that Cara kept dumping dirt into last weekend until Daddy caught her! ;)
At around 5:00 p.m., I thought I finally had her convinced to come in the house and take another bath. When she put the swather back in the basket of trucks and tractors in the garage, she spotted a dump truck she needed to play with. And a plastic yellow shovel.
It's 5:40 p.m. and she and her dad are in negotiations right now about coming in the house and getting out of the dirt.
So much to comment on...
ReplyDeleteGlad you finally got a good weekend.
I think they're all taught to stay off the grass and stay in the walkways. Our son loves dirt too.
The sleepover sounds like some of the other "firsts" we've tried, only to realize that we weren't all ready for the first yet.
Love the two 4-H Girls!
