Baby Chicks

We like to get a few baby chicks every spring to add to our flock. I think you can taste the difference between fresh, farm grown eggs and eggs from the store. The first week in March, Cara wouldn't even go over to the baby chicks at the feed store; even when I held her. She just screamed. The second time we went to the feed store, Cara would at least peer into the galvanized watering troughs that held the chicks, but there was NO WAY she was going to hold any of them. We bought 6 baby chicks on Friday, and look at her now!

B picked an all-white one and decided to name it appetizer after the baby chick on "Off The Map."

A posing. We need to take pictures of the kids with their pigs today in preparation for the livestock show the first week in May.

Aren't they sweet?

  1. Yes, they are sweet. I especially love the three of them walking away with the dog. I always loved baby chick "season" as a child.
